Lots of sound from a small box

Summary: As an audiophile I never thought I'd say this, but this speaker is TOO good. I just got an iPhone 4S and wanted a dock for my desk at work to charge it, and figured may as well grab one with speakers too. My only gripe with it is that I can only listen to it at volume level 1. Even at 2, it's too loud and the people near me can hear. If i were using this in a home office or for any other use it would be perfect though.
Summary: Nice sound, I use it at work so I haven't cranked it up too much. Word of warning for using it in the office, I have it on low volume but when I undock and redock my iPhone and start playing music again its MUCH louder then before so be careful at work! I'm also basing my 4 stars on paying ~$39 for it during the holiday promo. Also cool that you can use batteries or AC cord to run it.
Summary: This speaker dock has some pretty great sound for such a small system. It worked perfectly with iPhone 4s. My only gripe with the system is that it did not have a remote control. If you believe you can live with out the remote, then by all means I would go ahead with this system. I also tried the JBL On-Stage 3 and the sound lacked bass. With the JBL, there was no balance between bass and treble.
Summary: Pros: * Relatively low price versus performance * Decent sound -- bass is a somewhat lacking, but these are by no means "tinny". Volume is OK -- probably not for parties, though. * Optional battery power is quite nice * Works well with an iPhone 3GS with a hard case. No issues charging or playing. Bulkier cases might have issues. Cons: * Auto power-down feature does not seem well-thought out.
Summary: The unit is smaller than expected, but has decent sound for the size. Don't expect it to fill a large room, but it is enough for moderate volume in a typical bedroom. The dock works well and works with most cases. It does not fit with the Otterbox case, I had to order a dock extender ([...] The alarm on the phone will work when docked without this unit being turned on, but the sound from the phone's speakers is muffled by the dock.
Summary: I'll caveat by first saying this is my first docking speaker system for an iPod. Overall I'm pleased with the unit. It's very portable and the sound quality is about as good as you would expect from the small speakers. Pros: - Portability - Running off of 4 standard AA batteries is a nice to have for me to bring this out to the pool. - Compatibility - I can confirm that this works fine with an iPhone 4.
Summary: I guess I thought this device would be larger than it is. I purchased it mainly for my garage so I could listen to music while I work. The sound is pretty good for it's size and the bass is probably the best you can expect from such small speaker. I guess I would enjoy something a bit larger though for a more full sound. We did take it on a recent camping trip and it's size was an advantage in that situation. The ability to run it off batteries was a plus.
Summary: We are music junkies at our house and whenever we are home we are listening to our networked FLAC audio library on our Sonos in whichever room we are parked. Every room has ceiling speakers with the exception of our theater room which is a high quality audio system (McIntosh/B&W). After being in the habit of using our setup and being so happy with how everything works I was not sure this little Altec Lansing would be for me.
Summary: I have been through many small speaker systems and when I got an iPhone, this seemed like it might work. The sound is remarkable for its size. I would put it on par with any laptop speaker system by Logitech, like the Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers (Black) which I admire. The sound is well balanced and clean with no distortion, even at the maximum volume. The bass is just right with `firing ports' under each speaker for great effect.
