Improved Over Previous Generations & Impressive For This Price Range

Dominick "Dominick", Amazon
17 January 2015
  • Summary: I purchased the iMT620 to replace the iM500 which had a rather large number of miles on it and finally gave out. After reading the reviews here for the iMT620 as well as being satisfied with the previous generation, i gave it a go.

Bad Breakdown - the Second Time, Too

Richard Berryhill "human being", Amazon
2 November 2012
  • Summary: I have to say that I really, really liked this unit for its features, and having had, now, four units in this product line: an iM3C (great little white thing), two iMT325 units, and this - by far the best, the iMT620, it was hard to give up the idea that maybe it was worth trying yet another one.

Good, but lacks some important features compared to IM-600

An American Abroad, Amazon
23 October 2012
  • Summary: I own both the 600 and the 620. I LOVED the 600, and decided to get an updated version so I could take one to the office. Both are great products with excellent sound and wonderful portability.

great features, but ipod connection does not last

ksap, Amazon
17 August 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this unit two years ago and it was working fine until 1 month ago. The ipod connector no longer works and this was basically the company's response: Altec Lansing Inc." I am sorry but the connector that you are referring to is where you dock the Ipod correct?

Fantastic Sound but has flaw with aux port use

user, Amazon
27 January 2012
  • Summary: One major problem that could break the deal for some. When the unit is hooked up to an ipod or desktop computer via the aux port, it shuts down after 10 minutes or so. For some reason, the unit does not think that it is receiving sound, so it shuts down.

Great sound so far

New Reviewer, Amazon
5 December 2011
  • Summary: Just purchased and used for one evening. The sound quality is great, given the size of the unit. Better than I even expected. Not as good as a Bose docking station, but this unit is only a fraction of the price. The radio works well too, but the antenna needs to be raised to get good reception.

Oh, the horror...

Mr. Litwin "living dangerously", Amazon
1 November 2011
  • Summary: I cannot express my utter disgust with this device and Altec Lansing support. The first unit I received would shut off randomly. Of course this was just out of my 30 day return to Amazon. I requested a warranty replacement. With AL. I was in their system for nearly a month.

If you use apps other than iTunes, STEER CLEAR

CJ, Amazon
20 October 2011
  • Summary: I'll keep this simple. This product sounds great and as long as you're just using it to play music via iTunes, it'll work fine. The problem comes in if you try to use other apps (e.g., Pandora, ESPN, etc).

Great product with serious flaw: turns itself off!

theWalrus, Amazon
29 July 2011
  • Summary: I bought this product to play my iPod 160GB classic at work. Considering its small size the sound is fantastic. Looks great, too. Unfortunately, it will just stop playing and put the iPod into battery charging mode for no reason, even when plugged into the wall. And it does this constantly.

Terrible Design Flaw-- Not as Advertised

S. Gorman, Amazon
10 July 2011
  • Summary: First of all, the quality of the instrumentation on this speaker is extremely cheap and flimsy. It has the feel of a cheaply constructed plastic toy. It's ridiculous that they charge one hundred bucks for this thing when it appears to be worth about half that or less.
