Summary: Normally, I do not buy the electronics for my household. I was a bit apprehensive when it came to making this purchase. Thanks to several online reviews, I was able to feel confident with this purchase. Thankfully, my husband truly enjoyed this system. The sound quality is spectacular! I had planned on ordering a Bose system, because it is such a well-known brand. We are definitely NOT disappointed. We love the look and overall performance of this product.
Pros: Adds Functionality, Easy to Set Up, Fits Well, Lightweight, Stylish
Altec Lansing inMotion IM7 Portable Speaker System
23 May 2007
Summary: The sound from these speakers is outstanding! I like the little remote that comes with it, but I haven't found it to be fully compatible with my Nano. The case that holds the Nano in place doesn't fit exactly right, but once everything is running, it sounds great.
Summary: I use this speaker frequently when my friends and I goskateboarding in my friends driveway. The noise of thosereally hard wheels rolling on pavement doesn't overpower thesound of this playing though. Its very loud for the size andthe sound quality is amazing too.Highly recommended. Problems Encountered: I actually had to buy a new one because the door broke, causing a faulty connection making sound only come out ofthe right speaker.
Summary: The inMotion iM7 packs a LOT of punch. It has impressive sound and a heavy bass for its size. It also looks fantastic. I decided to purchase the iM7 as I wanted a portable speaker system for my ipod, and this certainly does the job. So what is it like? Setting up... This is a synch to setup. There is a press touch door at the front which smoothly opens for you to insert your iPod in the intergrated ipod dock.
Pros: Huge bass, rich room-filling sound
Cons: Heavy, no volume/bass/treble meters, remote so-so
Summary: I bought and returned two other iPod speaker systems and then I found "IMMY". That's what I call my wonderful new Altec Lansing IM7. The sound is excellent and this thing is cool looking too. Forget the Bose system. It sounds good but you get similar sound quality at a better price with the IM7.
Pros: Excellent sound, especially bass response. Cool looks Bang-for-the-buck (99GBP 217GBP for the Bose).
Cons: The adapter for the iPod Nano does not allow the Nano to fit into the IM7. Therefore the Nano has to be plugged into the IM7 without an adapter, resulting in an unstable connection.
Summary: Very pleased with unit overall but now want completely portable unit with rechargeable battery like new bose sound dock portable. Can't fault the sound quality though. I also noticed some weird staining on the speaker grilles which I assumed to be some kind of oil residue from the speaker magnets - not sure what it is but may try to remove with soapy water???
Summary: I love this iPod portable speaker unit. It's so complimentary to the iPod you'd think Apple designed it themselves.
Pros: Looks great. Well designed. Big sound. Versatile power options (battery or wall point). Highly portable. Lots of connectivity options. Charges iPod (but not when operating on batteries). Warranty in Australia REPLACED my unit NO QUESTIONS ASKED when the closing mechanism failed. Very happy listener/customer.
Cons: No display to indicate levels for volume/bass/treble. Closing Mechanism is vunerable to breakage if not handled carefully/correctly. Remote control is Infrared (line of sight only) and operates poorly.
