Summary: I am quite impressed with the sound this clock radio has. It's not tinny at all. Actually the bass is quite nice. I've cranked it up pretty loud, and it still sounds great. I love that fact that it charges my ipod at the same time as it plays music. I'd recommend this to anyone. I love the fact that I can set two separate alarms, one for during the week and one for the weekends.
Alarm only works intermittently when using iphone as source.

Summary: My short advise - Stay away from this unit is possible. Two problems: 1> If using it as a alarm clock (more specifically using ipod/ iphone as your source for waking up to alarm), yo can safely say that 50% of the time you will never hear the alarm as it never sounds. Display on the screen (Alarm symbol) will be flashing when you wake up (it means the alarm kicked in on time) but it will not engage iphone to play a song (even though it has charged the iphone overnight...
Summary: Although it looks nice. It doesnt charge my iphone 5. In the description it doesnt specify this because if it did i wouldnt have bought this one. In the description it implies that it works with all iphones.
Summary: Does a great job waking you up, etc. The reason it lost a star is the brightness setting of the clock numbers loses setting each time you work with the alarms. I could understand temporary brightness and then going back to the setting, but I don't like bright numerals when I'm trying to sleep, so... after I set the alarm, I have to fiddle with the brightness settings. it's habit now, but... man, sometimes that's aggravating.
Summary: I was pleased to found such a bargain iPad player but I learned you get what you pay for. I purchased this on July 26, 2013 and last night, sometime after I had gone to bed and before I woke up the digital display completely melted away. There are no numbers or characters visible at all. Before this incident, I was happy enough with the player. Some things that were good: 1. You can completely darken the clock screen.
Summary: The specifications on Amazon's website indicated this product would be compatible with iPhone 4s but when I plugged in my device, it gave a "accessory not supported by this device" error. On Philips' website, however, it indicates this speaker dock is compatible with iPhone 4, not the iPhone 4s.
Summary: The dock was great and worked well while it worked... but eventually the dock stopped connecting. I figured that's ok, I was within the 1 year warranty period. WRONG! I called Phillips customer service, was jerked around for an hour only to be informed eventually that although it certainly seemed that my dock was broken, because I purchased it from a third party there was no warranty coverage.
Summary: Worked during July, but that was about it. While the device was clearly on and running, there was no sound via radio or iPhone. Bought in May, given as a gift in late June, unusable by August. Vendor refused return. Looks like I am stuck.
