Summary: We have iPhone 3 and 4. We can sync and charge it with the clock radio without taking off the cases. We have used both thin cases and the thick plastic cases. There is an app you can download to sync the clock, radio stations and alarm from your phone. No more trying to remember which buttons to reset the clock. The sound is fine and what I would expect for it's size.
Summary: I've been using the same alarm clock radio for years, and thought it was time for a change. So far I'm very pleased with my choice. SMALL FOOTPRINT: I wanted a much smaller clock than I had before, and that's what I got! It almost borders on being too light, so that it moves around if you push the buttons too hard, but it doesn't bother me too much.
This thing is a piece of crap if you have an iphone 3

Summary: We purchased this clock radio based on the great reviews and the size of the unit. These reviews must have been based on iphone 4 and my husband and I both have iphone 3. Even though this is supposed to work with an iphone 3 or 4, we had nothing but trouble and will be returning it to Amazon.
Summary: I have found this to be surprisingly good. I mostly wake up to talk radio or iPhone music and the sound is very good for such a small speaker. It is not strong enough to be my primary way to play iPhone/iTunes music but for talk radio it is my primary. It is very good alarm clock as I use the iPhone app to set the wakeup times. The app is very intuitive and easy to use.
Summary: I waited several months before buying this clock radio. I read all of the reviews first and checked all of my options. I absolutely love this! I first used it for my ipod touch 3g and then my husband surprised me with a iphone 4 for Mother's Day. I was afraid the iphone would not work with the clock radio, but it did! Yes, the device requires time to set up and you have to read the instructions step by step. But once you've got it, you've got it!
Summary: I ordered this alarm clock after reading mainly positive reviews but now I really wish I would have read the critical reviews. I have an i-pod touch 4th generation. Everything is up to date so I know it is not a flaw of the i-pod. When I docked my i-pod the memory loader app automatically downloaded. I don't get the point of this app...it's useless.
Summary: Purchased this about 6 weeks ago based on its small footprint and dual alarm feature. The instructions & controls are confusing and not well layed out...overall, rather difficult to negotiate. For example, it took quite some time to figure out how to turn the radio off. Could not find anything in the manual (maybe I missed it) and spent a while just clicking buttons. Another negative is that it does not come with a back-up battery. Really?
Summary: The most remarkable thing about this clock radio is the great sound. I've listened to a number of radios this size and the Panasonic is the best, with a clear, full sound and reasonable bass for a tiny radio. The gimmick on this clock is the ability to control everything via the iPhone/iPod. This is pretty cool but the app itself is not very well designed. You have to synch time, alarms and your radio presets separately.
Summary: I needed a new alarm clock. I bought the Panasonic RC-D1 because it was small and it would work with my IPhone. There is an IPhone app to set the alarm. It is a pain in the ass to set the alarms or turn the alarms off. My company forces me to have a screen lock on my phone. When my alarm goes off I will usually hit the snooze button because it is easy to find.
