Great sound for the price.

Summary: I bought this for my wife and her 3rd gen iPod touch after reading many other reviews not only here on Amazon but on other sites as well. The sound is good. There are other speaker systems for the iPod that sound much better, but those are more attuned to the audiophiles. I would like to have had the Acoustic Research Tabletop Radio with Docking Station for iPod and MP3 Players system, but the size was too large for our use as well as the cost at this time.
Summary: The audiostation is great for the price. It is small easy to pack and carry around and requires only 6 AA batteries that last a long time. good for the pool and picknicks. the sound quality is not as crisp or as loud as a boes system.
Summary: The Logitech Audio Station has excellent tone and volume. The only item that prevents it from getting 5 stars is that certain buttons on the remote don't work. Only the volume and on and off buttons seem to function. You can't stop it, pause it or move it to the next track. These however are minor problems. It plays very well.
Summary: This is an excellent system, but don't be misleaded by its size. It packs a good bit of sound but the quality decreases when you turn the volume way down. It sounds very distant when its quiet. Also, the little remote doesn't always work. Otherwise it sounds awesome with full volume.
Summary: The speakers are clear, I haven't had any problems with rattling or distortion at high volume levels. The speakers still work well when using batteries to power it, no loss of volume. The remote isn't too powerful, need to point directly at the front of the dock for it to be recognized. Kind of bummed that the video out doesn't work with my 160G ipod classic, stupid Apple.
Summary: Was very surprised with the sound quality from this unit. Pretty much a "no-brainer" for operating. Comes with a nice protective case, too, for traveling/portability. Has a number of adapters for the various Ipods, but the hole for the small Nano did not align with the connector on the AudioStation - an easy fix for me to shave the plastic hole a bit larger to make it work, but this will probably be a problem for every Nano owner....
Summary: This little unit is not, of course, going to compete with Bose or any of the other high end units out there. However, this has pretty good sound for an under $100 station. It sounded better than just about any of the other models I plugged my ipod into at a couple stores. I didn't bother with the $200 or more units, because that was more than I was willing to pay. I have a smaller house and this does more than a good job filling it with decent sound.
