Summary: I have purchased many different iPod speakers- always after conducting extensive research across the board including professional reviews, personal reviews and reading specs at the manufacturers website. Many are highly are rated by the various reviewers just like this one. I have exacting standards for music listening and I have previously bought and listened to price equivalent boxes such as the Harmon Kardon (GO + PLAY II) Dr.
Summary: i read that the OnBeat Xtreme looks like it should be on a Klingon bridge, so i took a better look! the jbl eon self powered 15" monitors i owned for years were awesome, but i didn't want those in my living room. the Xtreme is as good as it gets for sound reproduction at this price point, and better than some that are more expensive. i'm impressed with the quality of the blue tooth connection also, a very clean signal.
Summary: Excellent speaker system for your ipod/ipad, I am overwhelmed with the quality of sound, good low and high frequency ranges just fit for my family room ambiance , not to mention the awesome design is perfect for any small to mid-size area at home, thank you JBL/Harman
Summary: +Rich, full sound +handles high volumes without distortion +fills a 40'x40' outdoor area just fine +love the remote capabilities and bluetooth features It exceeded my expectations...and no drawbacks come to mind.
Summary: Purchased this player to replace an older JBL unit. Always liked the JBL sound on the older unit but because of the iPod connector weakness of design, that connector ultimately failed. All attempts to repair the old JBL were to no success even though I have a lot of experience in electronic repair. The cost of the OnBeat Xtreme were off putting to start but reviews seemed strong so ultimately we took the plunge and have now had this unit for about a month or so.
i don't have an apple device it works great via bluetooth

Summary: if your looking for a great sounding speaker...this is the one i have it hooked up to my pc so we enjoy it off the pc as well as via Bluetooth & my son has an iPhone that he uses with the dock...love it...
Summary: I was thinking about getting the BOSE ipod/ipad speaker, but after reading th reviews about the bass response, and seperations, I tried the Onbeat Extreme. Well, for something to listen to my ipod playlists while cleaning the house, or working on stuff for work, I could not be happier. This unit will serve well for my back yard bbqs......
Summary: You hear everything you are supposed to hear. Bluetooth works great, but the sound quality is much better when you directly connect to it via the ipod dock or the 3.5" jack for AUX input. The bass is so clean and deep. When you throw the right recording at it this unit will blow you away. Since it is very accurate it is not very forgiving to badly recorded songs in my opinion. It does not tire you out. The highs are balanced and the bass is not overdone.
