Summary: I received my unit today, plugged my iPhone 4 into it, played some music and ... WOW! Great sound! Rich bass and crisp highs all of which can be modified with the built-in equalizer. I then plugged in my iPod Classic ... GREAT! It takes six D-Sized batteries and also has an AC adapter. The remote control unit is slick. I love the hard-rubbery non-slip surface. It looks and feels great. Downside: The unit has a built-in FM tuner, but no external FM antenna.
Summary: Worth every nickel and dime :) I wanted a portable system that would allow me to play outdoors , I bought a couple of rechargable d batteries and let this bad boy to use , everyone always complements me on how dope and retro it looks thank you I home I strongly recommend this product to anyone out there
Nice radio, but glad I didn't pay "full" price for it.

Summary: I'd watched the price of this boombox for a while before purchasing it. Some retailers were asking almost $200 for it. I paid around $130 for it. It's a decent unit, but even $130 is a lot of money to pay for it. I'm a little disappointed with the amount of bass output. The graphic equalizer isn't all that effective. I'd also liked to have had an extendable mast antenna as opposed to the "plug in" length of wire that dangles off the rear of the unit.
Summary: Was very impressed with the looks of this boombox I get complements all the time on it. The sound is also great for 1 room, but beyond that it just won't deliver that great sound outdoors. It's very sturdy and convenient although putting a bunch of batteries for travel isn't ideal.
Summary: I ordered the Altec Lansing Mix boombox for two hundred bucks and I enjoyed its sound and features. However, I had to return it because it was having battery issues that many others had the same issue. It kept on shutting itself off. I decided to try this iHome boombox and I am happy with it. I paid like 35% off the retail manufacture price. I use it mainly as a portable boombox for the tennis court. For about a 60' and 120' outside area, it is plenty loud enough.
