Never could get it to work - Poor tech support response.

Summary: Poor product. Had a heck of a time getting it to recognize that my iPad (iPad1 & iPad2) was plugged into it. THen it stopped recognizing them at all. Tech support from Britain was useless, acting as though the problem was caused by something other than the device. I'm a very tech savvy person and could diagnose a software problem. If they had simply said "Just send it back and let us send you a new one" I would have been satisfied. Would be useful if it worked.
Summary: The Cambridge iD100, unfortunately, is not compatible with all digital "pre-amps." I purchased the McIntosh D100 Digital Pre-amp, powered by McIntosh's MC302 300W Stereo Amp. I connected the Cambridge iD100 unit first using the "optical" connection. I inserted the proper iPod interconnect & then my updated iPod. Any music I played through "Music" on the iPad repeatedly skipped. So, I then removed the "optical" connection and switched to the "coaxial" connection.
Summary: This unit felt like a quality piece of kit when unwrapped. Unfortunately after powering it up from the wall wart socket I couldn't get it to switch on. Obviously faulty the unit went back to be replaced another which didn't work either. Obviously a problem with the remote sensor interface. Third time lucky, but you guessed it when third unit arrived that didn't work either!!!
