Never could get it to work - Poor tech support response.

Summary: Poor product. Had a heck of a time getting it to recognize that my iPad (iPad1 & iPad2) was plugged into it. THen it stopped recognizing them at all. Tech support from Britain was useless, acting as though the problem was caused by something other than the device. I'm a very tech savvy person and could diagnose a software problem. If they had simply said "Just send it back and let us send you a new one" I would have been satisfied. Would be useful if it worked.
Summary: If you own an iPod and you have an AV Receiver for your home cinema with a spare audio in (I use coaxial) then you have to buy this appliance! It produces CD player quality music from your iPod that appears only limited by the quality of your front speakers. A song that always showed the limitations of regular iPod docks was Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. This device allows your speakers to play the complete bass of that song without distortion.
Summary: From the info given and the video demo, you might think that this is an all in one solution.... this is NOT a Digital analogue converter as the price of it might indicate.... its just a high priced dock.... sure it allows you to extract a "pure digital signal" from your Ipod, but you then need an external DAC... to convert it to a playable analogue signal... those are not so easy to find and are expensive...
Summary: I am having problems with the device delivered to me. I am using it in India, or else I would have gotten back much earlier. The remote control does not work. I thought may be the Lithium batteries supplied with the unit were dead. I changed them but still it does not work. I like the TOS-link Optical output but if you have DAC and then problem of getting the video connection to the AV Receiever becomes not you would want.
Summary: Of all the audiophile iPod docks out there in my opinion this one provides the best sound per dollar spent. In fact as far as I can tell it sounds every bit as good and maybe better than some competitors costing hundreds of dollars more. The unit is very easy to setup and get going. Great sound. Great value.
Summary: This unit felt like a quality piece of kit when unwrapped. Unfortunately after powering it up from the wall wart socket I couldn't get it to switch on. Obviously faulty the unit went back to be replaced another which didn't work either. Obviously a problem with the remote sensor interface. Third time lucky, but you guessed it when third unit arrived that didn't work either!!!
Summary: It wouldn't replace your hi-fi CD player in terms of sound quality. I compared the sound from Cambridge Audio 640 V2 CD player and id100 using top Denon receiver and 2 optical cables to feed Denons DAC. I used Acoustic Alchemy AArt CD and Apple Lossless from this CD to play from the Ipod. Id100 sounded cheaper, many details were missing. It might be something related to the internal Ipod4 data issues or the problem was with the id100 itself.
Summary: This dock's audio is outstanding! I gave it four stars because it's video onscreen display doesn't work. Contacted Cambridge Audio and received an email from them stating that it is Apple's fault(?).That if Apple doesn't come out with fix, then they will do their own(?).Perhaps their advertising should state so(?).
Summary: Got it next day shipping from amazon fantastic, waited a long time for a decent iphone4 dock and this suits the bill. Pricey for what it is, but i was going to pull the trigger on a onkyo nds 1000 from Japan and thats like 400. was going to get the wadia 171i but again the price kept me thinking. This ends my search for a dock and if it lasts, ill get another.
