Summary: The Duo-i Plus unit worked fine for about one year, and we were quite satisfied, but then, one day, all of a sudden, all functions stopped working. We checked with Boston Acoustics online support center and they confirmed that the unit was definitely broken and in need of repair. Since it was more than one year old, and out of warranty period, our option was to ship the unit to an authorized repair service.
Summary: I bought this radio about 3 years ago after hearing one in a brick and mortar. I was impressed with the sound so I ordered it on line. While everything worked as expected it was a 5 star product. Unfortunately, that didn't last too long. As it stands right now, I cannot adjust the time, display brightness or even get to any of the other user adjustable controls.
Summary: I owned it and loved it at first but the unit developed a small buzz sound at low volume. The unit also died right after the warranty expired and the company REFUSED to do anything! Not good customer relations, especially after buying their products for 40+ years (Marantz, McIntosh, Denon, etc.). I will NEVER buy their goods again.
Summary: I purchased this unit from an authorized dealer less than a year ago. When I got it out of the box, neither speaker worked. Customer support from Boston Acoustics was terrible, I sent 4 emails before someone got back to me (and don't even bother trying the customer service number on their web site - no one ever answers it) and then they refused to repair their product so I had it fixed out of my pocket.
Summary: I read a bunch of reviews, and against my better judgment I bought this for my husband because he said the company has a good reputation. Let me tell you, they won't for long. Hubby opened his Christmas present, plugged it in, and.... nothing. I returned it and bought a Tivoli Songbook. Don't be a foo' like me. Read the reviews and DO NOT BUY THIS.
Summary: Have to agree with the others that the reliability of this unit ruins what otherwise would be a decent stereo. Once the warranty is up (12 months New), this thing is a doorstop. On mine, the iPhone/iPod connector stopped working--Boston wanted me to pay $150 for the repair plus shipping and handling to a service center in Los Angeles. Absurd. I hate companies that once they have your money don't give a damn about you.
Unfortunately, you need to stay away from this unit

Summary: There are a lot of great reviews out there and the unit is nice with a great design, sound, and features. Unfortunately BA took too many shortcuts in the manufacturing process and the radios are having significant issues. Given this, they should do more with the customer service and warranties...but they don't. This is a $200+ radio and you only get one year of warranty. That does not say much about their belief in the quality of their own product.
Summary: I purchased the Boston Acoustic Duo-I Plus primarily for its FM reception after reading other favorable reviews on this feature and it is far and away the best FM radio receiver I have ever owned and has an astounding FM reception range. The sound quality is Good, not Great, and the i Pod dock is a great feature.
Summary: I purchased this to have a dual alarm clock with decent sound. The audio was better than I expected and the FM Radio locked-in stations and worked well. (I don't wake to an I device so I can't comment on this feature.) The controls are quirky, but getting so many functions out of so few controls would be difficult - I could have lived with this. But, the negatives overwhelmed the positives and I returned it before my 30 day grace period was up.
