Summary: I have the original Zeppelin. Bought in January 2009. Every so often since I've bought it, it went into protect mode with flashing red LED. This usually happens when I grab my iphone from it without turning it off. Anyways, I usually just pull the plug for 30 seconds and let the machine 'reset.' But 2 days ago, I tried to do the same thing but it never reset. I emailed customer support and they said I'd have to send it in for repairs.
Summary: Great looking speaker but it does not work. The AirPlay feature, which is the sole reason for my purchase of this product, does not work. I tried multiple times, then contacted tech support with no success. The product should not be advertised as AirPlay compatible.
Summary: We used to love this speaker. It played beautifully. This week we updated our home wireless router. All our other devices updated fine....except this. Three hours worth of "firmware updates" and the Zeppelin Air is still giving nothing but error messages and silence. We have tried a full system restart. We have downloaded and run the "Zeppelin Air Programmer" application. We have downloaded and run the "Zeppelin Recovery" utility.
Amazon is not authorised to sell these units and B&W will not honour warranty claims

Summary: Just found out the hard way that amazon is not the authorized reseller so my warranty claim will not be honoured for defective unit. I am getting stiffed as its not under return policy of amazon and B&W refused to honour warranty. Summary: I received it broken, seller only told me i had to contact b&w directly and they told me that i had to pay 150 usd more for repairing it plus shipping costs. I amreally disappointed and i wouldnt recommend anyone to purchase this product b&w neither to purchase any item to Dario212
Summary: The Zeppelin Air by Bowers & Wilkins is by far the worst air play dock I have ever used. I followed the airplay setup instructions word for word and even had customer support aid me but the signal always drops. I tried different routers (ones that are just G and not N) and still have the same problem. I spoke with other users and they always tell me that the signal tends to drop so what's the point.
Summary: So buggy you should wait another generation or two. It is constantly getting confused when trying to close the Airplay from one device and starting it on another. It is constantly losing its connection even when just a few feet from my Airport Extreme. After an hour on the phone with a very helpful tech support person and B&W he said he was out of ideas and I should try talking to Apple.
Summary: I'm sure this thing sounds beautiful, but since I can't maintain an AirPlay connection to it for more than 20 seconds at a time, I wouldn't know. Biggest waste of money of my life. I've setup and re-setup the wifi at least a dozen times. Used to maintain a connection if I used a Mac instead of iPhone / iPad, but even this isn't working anymore.
Pros: Looks interesting.
Cons: Can't maintain an AirPlay connection for more than a few minutes at a time, and then it completely drops off the WiFi network.
Summary: The sound quality is fantastic. Unfortunately the reason I purchased the system was for the Airplay feature. Crutchfield was very helpful in sending me another unit after the first one would not connect to wifi. After spending an additional 7 hours trying to set up the second unit, I have decided not to use this system. Many thanks to Crutchfield for your help and great customer service.
Pros: The sound was incredible when ipod was docked.
Cons: After trying to configure 2 different units, and over 20 hours of time, I could not get the speaker to connect to the wifi. Upgraded firmware, changed network password, and repacked two units to return back. Too bad, the sound is incredible, but Airplay feature does not work. After reading other reviews, many have had the same problem.

Summary: Do not purchase this product. It has a systemic manufacturing defect which causes an electrical element/capacitor contained within the circuitry to fail every 3-4 years. Mine has now failed for the second time having been returned to Bowers & Wilkins via Peter Jones once for the flashing red light issue 3 years after purchase, which coincidentally was 1 year after the warranty period had ended.
