  • Conclusion: Despite some minor distortion at high volumes, the Altec Lansing Octiv 650 is a solid iPod dock with a built-in subwoofer and a great remote.
  • Pros: 2.1 system delivers powerful audio with significant bass. Compact design with built-in subwoofer. Connects to HDTVs to show video from iPod or iPhone. Full iPod navigation on remote control. Free accompanying app.
  • Cons: Minor distortion at maximum volume on deep bass tracks. Video output is not HD.

  • Excerpt: (1 items) Altec Lansing’s Octiv 650 is the latest in the company’s Octiv line of iPhone/iPod-dock speaker systems. The company calls the 650’s design wedge-shaped—it’s 13 inches wide, 6 inches tall, and between 2 inches and 6 inches deep, with the deepest part right in the middle—but to my eye, it looks more like an anvil turned on its side. The body of the Octiv 650 is made of black plastic, with the face of the unit covered in black mesh fabric.

The body of the Octiv 650 is made of black plastic, with the face of the unit covered in black mesh fabric.

Altec Lansing Octiv 650: keilförmiges iPod-Dock mit erstklassigem Sound

CNET
29 July 2011
