love it

  • Summary: I think this is a great product, and I am not as sensitive as others must be about the amount of light it puts out, so it doesn't keep me awake at all.

Great except for FM reception

Amazon Customer, Amazon
12 November 2009
  • Summary: I purchased this unit mainly because I own an iPhone and wanted to listen to the music off my iPhone, which works well. However, the reception from the radio leaves a lot to be desired. I had read this on other reviews, but was so focused on use with my iPhone, I did not pay that much attention to these concerns, plus optimistically thought that might just be where they had their units. Mine is on a nightstand right under a window, and still doesn't get good reception.

Sony ICF-C1iP Mk2 Clock Radio with Ipod Dock

Lightning, ReviewStream
5 November 2009
  • Excerpt: This Sony Dream Machine is a very useful product as it combines many functions into one piece of equipment. It works as an alarm clock, an AM/FM radio, iPod speakers and an iPod charger. I’ve split this review into several sections.

Pretty good

  • Summary: Overall, this is a pretty good system. I bought this for my iPhone 3GS and haven't noticed any issues with it yet. But like others have said, the display is a little too bright.

Kind of Okay

Alejo "Aledibe", Amazon
20 May 2009
  • Summary: Just because it is Sony, I bought it. But the sound is not what I expected. At high volume, we can hear some distortion on the quality of sound. The radio signal is very low, therefor difficult to have a clear listening. Work very good with i pod. Terrific radio control, all the function and very compact. Value - Product, Excellent. I would recommend it anyway.

Great Ipod Player

D. Prout, Amazon
28 April 2009
  • Summary: I don't know why people try to compare these players to a Bose player - they are not in the same price range so of course the Bose is better... That said....this is a great Ipod player (and charger) - I use it at work - fits perfectly and looks great. Another great feature is the fact you don't need different "housings" for different Ipods - so my Nano Gen. 3 and Gen. 4 both work. I also have an IHome Ipod player that cost more - this is much better!

Sony Clock-Radio with iPhone/iPod Dock is Superb ,,, and NO brightness problem

Amazon Fan for Many Years, Amazon
23 April 2009
  • Summary: I won't repeat all the details other reviewers have written, but I just want to say one thing: I don't know what all the fuss is about regarding the brightness of the display. From what others posted I almost did not purchase this item. But I'm glad I did. The display has three brightness settings easily accessible by a large button on top of the unit. I'm a light sleeper but found the display to be perfect.

Good, but not Ideal

B. Sherman, Amazon
3 April 2009
  • Summary: Sony, a well known producer of radios makes a decent attempt into the iPod speaker business essentially cornered by cheaply made but expensively priced iHomes. Sony has some great successes with this model, but also some things do fall flat. Radio Yes, I understand that by the nature of this item, radio is mostly an afterthought; however, the inclusion of FM 1 and 2 does little to help the weak antenna, which requires great care to get to pick up signals.
