Summary: I don't think I've ever had such a great iPod dock before! I don't think the alarm clock volume going up to the highest volume isn't THAT bad. I got used to it. Its not a big problem like everyone says it is. I don't see why JUST THAT PROBLEM makes this whole product go to a 3 stars. Its GREAT. It has TWO alarms, which is pretty sweet. You can change the light settings which is a big win. You can also charge and listen to your iPod and the alarm.
Summary: The alarm clock on this thing rocks! There is nothing like setting your iPod playlist to 80's heavy metal and then waiting for sunrise. I personally like Dokken or Motely Crue as they have the best "morning wake-up" songs. It's like you woke up in the front row of the concert! Once I went on a two week vacation and accidentally left the alarm turned on. My neighbors thought I had passed away or something and had the cops break in to shut of the alarm clock.
Summary: Although I don't have this specific model (I have the DC310/37. Same product but has no remote control... who really needs one for a clock radio anyway?) This little unit rocks! I have been very cautious looking for an iPod clock radio due to the fact that many of them are WAY over priced and don't put out the quality of sound you should expect when using a digital music player. This one is very reasonably priced and has great sound for such a compact unit.
Summary: This is the best sounding ipod dock for its size that I've ever heard and you can't beat the price. I use it all the time, and the remote works great. I would recommend it to everyone looking for something like this.
Summary: This product is great in all areas. The sound quality is quite good for the size, and the iPod cradle has all the adapters you could ask for (in case you lost the one that came with your iPod). Setting the time and alarms (there are two) is easy. The radio reception seems good, although I haven't used it for more than a second or two. The only thing that might annoy some is that the alarm starts playing from where ever playback last stopped.
Excellent sound quality and feature set for the money

Summary: If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get solid sound from a small device AND charge your iPod, this unit is for you. I have tried (and returned) several sub-$100 players like the mediocre iHome with its tinny sound and inconveniently wide body. This Philips unit offers rich bass (as long as you don't crank the volume way up) and a decent feature set.
Summary: I use this in my office to play my ipod and listen to music at low audio levels. I have played it at home and it sounds great at louder levels also. The design is great! Simple and stylish. It has just the right features I've been looking for. I had to really look for the cons... it doesn't have a battery backup but if the power outage is less than 10 mins, the clock will be ok. The presets remained even though i had it unplugged for a couple of hours.
Summary: Once you get past the fact that Amazon has really misrepresented this item, I can say that it really is a what I needed. Yes, as mentioned by another reviewer, there is NO CD player funtion at all. It would have been fantastic if Philips had designed it with one in mind, but I think it would have killed it's compact size which is why I bought it. There are only 5 presets (not 20 as per Amazon's description and the unit only plays FM, no AM).
