Summary: I normally think highly of Philips' products but not this one. This device quickly proved unreliable. My daughter can no longer use it as an alarm clock because more often than not, it malfunctions. When I test it by setting it for 5 mins from now, it always works fine. Then I set it for morning and suddenly she's missing the school bus cuz the darn thing won't go off, despite being set correctly. It even still shows as being set, yet just won't play.
Summary: I really like this radio. I purchased it to listen to my iPod in the kitchen. It has a really good sound and it is so easy to use. It fits all 3 of our family's iPods because of the different docking choices. I like the remote however I wish you could control the iPod panel with it. All you can do with the remote is go forward and back and adjust the volume - you can't navigate using the menu on your iPod. I think it is a great purchase for the money.
Summary: The product delivers everything I wanted when I looked at the specs and I like it a lot, however the rapidly ascending alarm to level 20 and not being able to change this level negates all the positives. I read and re-read the instructions to look for this setting, then googled it, and was really, really annoyed to find out that it's a fixed level. It's SOOOO annoying - the product could be great, but ends up being a failure because of this flaw.
Defective product, terrible customer service from Philips

Summary: This item was purchased for my husband as a Christmas gift. The alarm worked fine for about 10 days, then suddenly, even though set, the alarm would not go off. Then it would work for a few days again, and then fail, etc. I contacted Philips customer support. After several calls, disconnections and transfers and 2 hours of my time, it was deemed that the product is defective. In order to get a new one, I have to mail back the old one and pay for the shipping charges.
Horrible Alarm and Poor Customer Service from Philips

Summary: I purchased this item to play music (radio or iPod) to have my little boy wake up gently with music playing. Unfortunately, the system has an override that shoots the volume up from 0 to 20 whether you use the radio or iPod. There is no way to have alarm music play gently. This is not indicated on the package. The only alarm volume control comes with the buzzer option.
Summary: I bought the unit to replace an old alarm clock. Sure enough, I should have read the reviews a little bit more careful. While the AJ300D has two alarm settings and a pretty decent sound quality for such a small device, the alarm volume cannot be adjusted and is always maximum, which is REALLY LOUD even when listening to a quiet classical piece. One of the advertised features of the unit is supposedly "Gentle Wake". More like "gentle wake" of the dead.
Amazon listing incorrect. NO CD PLAYER just an ipod dock

Summary: Amazon's title list CD but it does not have a cd player in it. This is stated in the Technical Details but they still list it in the title and this is a cut an paste from the Product Discription. "CD/CD-R-RW, Built in iPod docking to play and charge your iPod or your Philips Go Gear MP3 player, FM digital tuning with 20 presets, DBB speaker system, sleep timer, Dual alarm, wake to CD," CD is listed twice but there is no cd player in the machine.
Summary: Amazon's descriptions are mistaken, this device has no CD player. Other than that, I'm sure it's fine, but I specifically purchased it because of the nonexistent CD playing function so I'm pretty disappointed.
