iHome iH5 Review

Digitaltrends
16 January 2006
  • Conclusion: The SDI iHome iH5r alarm clock is a good first attempt at bridging the iPod-alarm clock gap. The sound quality left us slightly disappointed, but on par with several other options at the same price point. But, sound quality is generally not the selling point for an alarm clock. The functionality is straightforward, but makes some rookie mistakes we hope to see addressed in later revisions.
  • Pros: iPod integration; charges iPod; good looking
  • Cons: Below average sound quality; annoying alarm; limited iPod control

Review: iHome Audio iH5

Macworld
24 August 2005
  • Excerpt: (1 items) Despite the hundreds (thousands?) of iPod accessories that have been released over the past few years, one particular type of product hasn’t been done: an iPod-focused clock radio. When you think about it, it’s a no-brainer: People like to wake up to music, so why shouldn’t it be to their favorite music? (The iPod’s own alarm function is no match for a good alarm clock, not to mention that it requires external speakers.
  • Pros: Radio and alarm clock are unique features, Good sound for the size, Charges iPod when docked, Excellent value
  • Cons: Only a single alarm, No radio presets, Quirky button layout and dial design, Remote not included
