Summary: This product is terrible. DO NOT BUY. The buttons are unresponsive making the drive no better then any other external harddrive enclosure. Unresponsive buttons make the iso mounting useless and you will lose your data if you encrypt the drive and the buttons wont allow you to unencrypt.
Summary: After fixing some issues with the drive I used in it (it had an EFI boot partition on it that the enclosure didn't like), I finally got my ISOs to show up. The keypad was unusable during the time I was having the drive problems, but I figured it would come to life once I fixed those. Not so. None of the keys works. I bought it over two months ago, so not sure if I can return it.
Excerpt: when you get one that works their goodThe first 2 units the keypad's did not work properly glad I bought from b&h the replaced both units and paid shipping in both directionsThe unit does all that is expected BUT poor documentation. Make sure you use a short cable with it. The 6 foot cables degrade the signal and the device works intermittently. A 3 foot cables work fine.
Sent back for replacement, vendor canceled order and refunded

Summary: I was hoping this would be a great evolution to the ZM-VE300, but unfortunately the keypad they used was of poor quality, only the 3 right hand buttons would respond to any input rendering the device useless. I asked the vendor for a replacement vs a refund but they completely ignored my request and made me pay for return shipping for a defective item and offered a base refund.
Summary: As a long time user of the zalman drives and own multiple VE200 type models, I was excited to see this new model supporting USB3, encryption, and keyboard input. However the experience was a nightmare! The keyboard did not work at all at first, and when I did get it partially working, the enter key (like many others) was non-functional. No response from zalman US technical support, so back the drive case goes!
