Summary: What else can I say. It's a hard drive, and it installed easily, especially with a new Windows 7 installation. This replaces an identicle drive I purchased from that E place that only lasted 10 days before going up in smoke, let's see...how do I draw money flying away?.
Summary: Good afternoon, unfortunately the hard drive is not to buy. I received a hard disk for WD Blue NOTEBOOK notebook, serial WXB1E92CNR96, what happened to the hard drive I buy? I bought a hard drive for desktop pc "WD Scorpio Blue 320 GB 5400 rpm SATA 3Gb / s"
Summary: I use these just for the OS. All of the "real" data is on other HDDs in the file server, so I'm putting a pretty small load on these.
Pros: No problems RAIDing these up in Ubuntu Server v12.04 using mdadm. This is the primary disk for the OS and it's been functioning flawlessly. They aren't super-fast disks, but they do what they're supposed to do.
Summary: I bought this drive and installed it on my Sony Viao laptop, which was the easy part. It did not work and I assumed it may be because it wasn't the exact brand that was previously installed, but all other specifications matched.
Summary: Purchased this drive refurbished to use in a hard drive module in a Latitude Laptop. The drive was recognized by the OS but would lock up every time I tried to copy files to it. In order to test it further I put it in an external USB case and tried it on another system with the same results.
Summary: I originally purchase the OEM (bare drive) version of this drive, which was defective and had to be returned to newegg. I usually opt for retail boxed HDDs because they come with a longer warranty and to me there's just something about it coming direct from the manufacturer that seems more reliable...
Pros: It works, and installed without a hitch. It's made by WD, a brand I have trusted for my storage needs for many years without incident. It's a really nice-looking drive. I felt bad stuffing it in an enclosure! Its 5400 RPM speed means it won't get too hot in the fanless enclosure I purchased for it.
