Summary: I needed a good and fast boot drive for a client. I found this on other websites, but Amazon had a better price. I installed the OS on my client's PC and this little gem is doing the job nicely. I highly recommend WD to everyone. I have been using their drives for over 25 years.
Summary: So I was given a desktop that was a couple years old and missing a few bits n pieces. Decided to rebuild it for the kids. Ordered this HDD for what seemed like a great price. Doesn't work. A complete brick. Worse, since it has no rubber anti skid feet, I can't even use it as a paperweight.
Pros: Got this about 6 to 8 months ago for a server I was building. It has since been running 24/7 since I built it and the drive just keeps on going. For the price and speed I am very happy with the drive.
Summary: Yes, Raid 0 is very fast, however, be advised that if only one drive crash, everything's lost. Here I have an external "NAS" server (QNAP TS-210) running 2 drives in Raid 1 (mirror), and that's where to put all my important data.
Pros: Even if these drives are "old" and very small, they're cheap ($36.99) and perfect for building a small Raid system. I have three (3) of them here in Raid 0 (total = 240 GB) and the overall performance of my PC is A LOT faster than using a single drive of the same (or bigger) size.
