Largest upgrade option for any PS3 and laptops that need 2.5"/9.5mm-height SATA HDDs

A. Dent, Amazon
2 January 2011
  • Summary: QUICK EVALUATION The Western Digital 640GB 2.5" SATA is a quiet, reliable, easy to install, drive. The 2.5"/9.5mm SATAs easily and perfectly mount inside a PS3's or laptop's drive bay where they can replace the laptop's or the PS3's original 20-40-60-80-160GB drive or the new PS3 120GB SLIM's without voiding the warranty. Same should hold true for the upcoming PS3's 250GB model. The minor price difference between purchasing a 250GB Slim vs.

Nanette Traband, Amazon
2 January 2011
  • Summary: This was the only thing on myy son's wish lilst this year (usually it is all books, movies, & TV shows) and he did get things besides this. But this he really wanted and with which he was very pleased!! Though he wasn't very suprised on Christmas morning, I could read the joy on his face.

Always need more storage space

Yesuaini99, Amazon
1 January 2011
  • Summary: I upgraded my MBP (late 2007) first with 320GB also WD from stock 160GB last year. Less than a year later, I am craving for more space (took too many videos and pictures and converted all of my CD's into MP4. So I used CCC to clone an exact copy (block by block) (make sure you purchase an universal USB SATA cable). It took about 8 hours to copy all of my 300GB worth of data from old drive to new drive. It seems a bit slow.

Good upgrade for MacBook Poly Unibody.

Donald G. Mickles, Amazon
22 April 2010
  • Summary: I was originally looking for an SSD but couldn't quite handle the price. This drive has better performance than the original drive that came with the MacBook. Installation was quite simple. The fasteners for the drive kind of through me because I didn't have the correct hex head screw driver, but I put some tape on a pair of small needle nose pliers and used those to turn the screws out. You have to be careful not to grip to hard. Over all it was pretty easy.

WD Scorpio the best!

L. Allston, Amazon
19 April 2010
  • Summary: I've had good luck with these drives. I've had two of the WD Scorpio 320's for two years now and they keep on ticking. I've only had this 640 for three weeks, work great so far. It's quiet and I'm happy with the access and data transfer times. You can't go wrong with this version of the WD drives.

  • Summary: I replaced my original 160gb hard drive after it died wit this drive. Love the extra space!! No problems. No clicking or vibration. I read some people had problems with the drive and I don't know if this helped or not but after installing the drive I reset the pram.
