Summary: Short version: I installed this in my aluminum unibody MacBook. It works fine. I have oodles of free space. It's pretty quiet. At the time, I think it was the largest capacity 9.5mm tall notebook drive available. Long version: I didn't really want to upgrade my MacBook.
Summary: I purchased this to install into my 60GB ps3. Who would've thought 60G wouldn't even come close to cutting it for this system? Well, installation went smoothly and I haven't really had any problems with it so to speak.
Summary: DO NOT FORMAT DRIVE BEFORE INSTALLING TO PS3 Gen 1: Install of HDD was very simple, I installed the drive booted the system, it did a full format and booted to the SONY OS. With restore this took about 3Hrs and 2Min. The 2Min is what it took to install the drive. Prepare to wait.
Pros: It works perfectly in my PS3. The BEVT HDD's will work in the PS3 as they do not have Advanced Formating
Cons: I missed getting it for 49.95 by 1 day! Again I missed the sale by 1 day.......
Summary: Even though its a 5400rpm disk, it work as good as a 7200RPM disk. It was pretty easy to install it and is working great. Cons: irritating click sound. I have heard the same clicking sound from most of the Western Digital HDD's, but not from any of the Segate ones..
Summary: I purchased this to upgrade the drive in my Acer Extensa 4620 laptop. It is rated for approximately the same power consumption as the 120G Hitachi it replaced. It is slightly quieter seeking, but a little louder on spin up/down.
Summary: Bought this hard drive for expanding storage in my dell studio hybrid desktop that I use with windows media center and Hdhomerun dual tuner. So far the drive works and have not noticed the clicking and bad noise others have posted hearing.
Pros: Increased my storage from 232GB in Dell Studio Hybrid to 596GB
Cons: Un-formatted capacity without partition is 597.17GB. Double the loss of storage from the factory Hiatachi 250GB drive that was only 232.2GB formatted.
Summary: between this drive and its 500 gb brother, this is my first pc with a little under 1 TB. This is great for someone who was stuck with around 320 gb of hdd space. After 4 months of owning the drive it made a scratching sound and stopped all hdd accessing for a second then the drive reset itself (the...
Pros: Speedy drive. 50 mbps between it and its 500 gb brother(WD5000BEVT). (At least for me. My first sata laptop hard drive) Quite even when accessing low temperature drive (110F after playing games for 12 hours straight.) Fits well in my Dell M90 Plenty of space for me
