Summary: I bought this to replace the hard drive in my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. The product description says it is compatible with this laptop model. When I put it in the laptop I noticed that it didn't seem to seat as positively as the original drive did. When I booted up the laptop, I got an error message saying that a hard drive couldn't be found and to try to re-seat the drive.
Summary: This hard drive seems to replace the original WD 250 GB drive we had in our Dell Inspiron 1545. This laptop is circa 2010. Well evidently the hard drive then was longer then this one. I tried doing a clone with Windows 7, and could not get the new hard drive to work in the computer. I tried everything, and then took it to a computer shop to have them give it a try.
Summary: I got this hard drive to replace a laptop hard drive that crashed. It is 5400 rpm and 500 GB of space. From pictures of the way it was packaged online, it looked exactly what I saw. I had no trouble reinstalling my OS using the recovery disks I created as a backup. Everything seems to be working. There was just one time where it made a weird scratching noise that was loud and I thought it would crash. It could be just a bad sector on the hard drive.
Summary: This drive was a great PS3 upgrade. I had a 1st gen. 60GB PS3 and my hard drive finally ran out of space when I installed GT6. Now I have plenty of room for more games, music and videos. The installation was extremely easy. However, I do have a few pointers for anyone attempting this upgrade for the first time: 1. Backup your PS3 to a USB FAT32 formatted flash drive. PS3 will only recognize flash drives that have been formatted as FAT32.
Summary: Replaced a dying Seagate 120GB drive in older laptop. No problems in install or initialization or partition or format. Reloaded from scratch O/S and all applications and data that was saved from the older drive (through backups, not from the Seagate drive). I have always preferred Western Digital drives, but the laptop came with the other brand.
Summary: My step moms laptop was freezing up and just acting strangely in general after a fresh install of the operating system. I found a free utility online to test the hard drive. Sure enough there were a few bad sectors. Installation of a new hard drive is a piece of cake, so I ordered this one. So far so good. After a fresh install of the OS and all the updates and software, it's running better than new.
It was packaged like I bought it from a local retail store

Summary: I do not know what others were saying about this product to give it a 1 star rating. It was packaged like I bought it from a local retail store. All factory sealed, correct buffers in box, bubble packing. Worked great, reloaded WIn7 in 30 minutes, back up a on the internet within an hour. Good product, good price, shipped perfect.
Summary: I needed to make an image copy of the hard drive in my three year old netbook, since I've already replaced two parts in it and didn't want to try to find a replacement for this excellent tiny inexpensive computer. I didn't need a larger hard drive, just a reliable one of the same size, so I got this. I was going to use the free Acronis software to make the copy, or at least it is described as free under the description of this drive.
