Summary: You get what you pay for but if the quality control isn't the greatest I feel 40 dollars would have been more reasonable for a budget hit or miss 500GB drive. Price 69.99 ~2013 The replacement drive now sits on the bench in case I absolutely NEED to use it for something.
Pros: It was inexpensive. The replacement seems ok now.
Cons: The first one I received had bad sectors which caused a head ache installing windows 7 and ultimately lead to unacceptable operation with errors often in the OS. This was a drive ordered for someone else to be installed by myself so when the issues arose it took more time getting the PC back to the owner. I ended up going to best buy and getting a cheap Seagate for 50 bucks, which installed fine and I have not heard back from the owner regarding the drive in over a year.
