Summary: I upgraded a 250 GB hard drive in my MacBook Pro with this drive. It shipped and arrived quickly in the no-hassle environmentally friendly Amazon packaging I have come to appreciate. Upon arrival, I popped it into hard drive enclosure, connected it to my MacBook via a USB cable and cloned my internal hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner. 30 minutes later, I've got the back of my MacBook off and swap hard drives. Right off the bat, it boots up with no issues.
Good price, good performance, terrible reliability

Summary: Got the drive 3 months ago. Worked great for awhile, plenty of space and so forth, easy installation and compatible with all PC's. However mine malfunctioned when the table it was on got shook, and about 3 hours later my entire laptop froze and would no longer load Windows. Performance declines quickly as you add even small files to the drive. Supposedly it's supposed to have a fail-safe mechanism that alerts you when the drive expects itself to fail.
Summary: I received two of these drives at the same time, for use in 2 different laptops. When I powered one of them up, I could feel the platters spin up, and on the other I could NOT. I suspected it might be faulty, but NO, it was just fine!! Both drives have been performing fine so far (a couple weeks). The vibration is not excessive, and seems to diminish a few minutes after power-up.
Summary: In class room and library, the drive makes constant fan-like sound that attract attentions. I have been working with it for two days and still can not get used to the noise. Every time I turn off the laptop, I feel like "thank goodness, the world is finally quiet now!". The performance seems to be fine, but the noise bothers me enough to return it.
Summary: The drive seems fast and I notice a little speed increase here and there, but it is a little noisy and sounds like a laptop fan that runs nonstop. I can also feel a vibration now. Returned for a Hitachi Hitachi Travelstar 2.5 Inch 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA II and that seems every bit as good and is quieter and no vibration.
Summary: I received this drive, it had minimal packaging but it did arrive safe. I installed it into my black macbook, fit just fine. The drive itself has run great for me over the past couple weeks i have had it. Although it seems to run a lot slower than my last drive (seagate momentus 7200.2 250GB). It seems to bottle neck or have an auto sleep feature. I have not been able to figure out exactly why its been slow, I will keep tinkering.
Summary: Le disque est performant et silencieux.
