HD sold as new turns out to be out of ...
26 October 2015
Summary: HD sold as new turns out to be out of warranty by 4 years per Western Digital and the serial number. Returned and got another one that was out of warranty by almost 3 years per WD. Forget this one !!!!
Summary: You get what you order. This HDD has lasted my over 3 years and still runs strong. I had used this as my primary storage unit until i upgraded to SSD recently. I now have this in RAID 0 as a secondary storage and still runs strong.
Pros: Has lasted over 3 years Reasonably Priced at time of purchase Great for secondary storage
Summary: I don't know what brand to recommend these days. I work on computers and I am seeing a lot of dead hard drives come in to my shop these days of all brands. I think the quality has gone out the door for hard drives these days.
Pros: Worked good for three years.
Cons: Died after three years of very moderate use.
Summary: I will swear by HD Caviar drives until they give me a good reason not to.
Pros: This runs as my secondary hard drive and I store all of my important files on it to make reformatting the OS drive easier. As such, I expected a lot of reliability from this drive, and I got it! It still runs great after 4 years. My computer operates on average 7 hours each day.
Summary: This was a replacement drive for the one that went bad. Always been pleased with Western Digital and its service. The price was very affordable and installation was a breeze being a SATA Drive. Resolved my computer problem....up and running in no time.
