Summary: This hard drive was late getting to me because of a technology crash at the company that ships it. However, when it arrived and was installed, it worked properly. So far, I have not complaints about the product.
Summary: I purchased this to replace the hard drive in my wife's laptop. the device was shipped in a very timely manner and it was easy to install. I loaded her system restore disks and had no problems with the drive. a good buy.
Summary: I work on and repair computers for a living, and I have seen many of these drives, so I thought I would share what to expect. These drives are priced and spec'ed as BUDGET hard drives. Expecting more than that is not a failure of the drive.
Pros: Performs similarly to drives priced higher. Very good price given what you get. For everyday use, they will last.
Cons: Battery life sacrifice if replacing a green. Life expectancy isn't fantastic. OEM's like to give customers budget drives and refuse to give a warranty. This is a common one. Not the drives fault, but worth pointing out.
Pros: It shipped fast and arrived quickly. This HDD was a replacement on an Acer Aspire 722 netbook to do a clean install of windows 7. It came formatted and the setup was done in about an hour after all the drivers and updates were installed. Not bad for 2.5".
Cons: A bit expensive for refurbished. Best buy sells the exact drive for $49.99 brand new. I was able to get it for $38.50 with a promo code, which is the only reason why I made the purchase. So I deducted an egg for that.
Summary: I received the first drive and had it in a client's machine and was installing Windows 7 Home Premium in a few minutes. During install I hear a clicking sound and then the screen went blank while the clicking continued. I powered the machine down and tried to re-create the sound again.
Pros: Decent price for the amount of space. Would like to see a faster 2.5" hard drive for $54.99
Cons: Had to RMA the first one. Physical errors were present and I could hear clicking.
