Dead on arrival. Recertified, not new.

Summary: Tried it in two laptops, just to be sure. Weird sounds from the drive, not detected by bios. Then, upon closer inspection of the sticker attached to the drive, noted the drive is "Re-certified." Nowhere in the product description did it say it was going to be a re-certified (ie used) drive.
BOUGHT 2 ,RETURNED 1 FOR REPLACEMENT , BOTH DIED SHORTLY AFTER 90 DAYS
1 January 2014
Summary: TERRIBLE PRODUCT ,EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. WHEN THE FIRST OF THE TWO QUIT WORKING IT NEARLY MELTED MY LAPTOP ,AND WAS SEVERAL MONTHS FOR REPLACEMENT TO ARRIVE ONLY TO HAVE BOTH DIE A FEW MONTHS LATER. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND -NOT EVEN TO AN ENEMY!!!!
Summary: I wish there was an option to select negative stars. The product description stated that I would receive a new - never used hard drive. However, this was not the case. It was discovered that after I installed the hard drive, that it was a refurbished hard drive and I learned a lot about the previous...
Summary: It will take a long time before I trust a WD product again, based on my experiences with them. At least the data is usually recoverable when they start acting up.
Cons: We have had more drive failures of WD 'blue label' drives than any other model or brand at my work, typically within 1 year. I work in a large IT department, and most of our new Dell laptops came with this model. The worst manufacturing period seems to have been 5/2011 through 7/2011. It got so b...
Summary: Was using my pc when it suddenly froze. Turned it off and back on but it wouldnt load the OS. Then it told me failure was imminent and i should get it backed up. I had not even used the freaking thing for one week and this happened.
Cons: Did not work, drive would spin up and shut down after 15 seconds. Took a chance despite the warnings in reviews. Obviously a defective design problem with this model, Western Digital is otherwise a reputable company but think they should reimburse for return shipping when a pattern of failure has...
Summary: wish I has Deskstars. Those were the best drives ever
Cons: Cheap. I've purchased 3 in a week and 2 have failed on me. both bad sectors. I froze up entirely. It won't even spin up. The other keeps rebooting and chkdsk has to repair every time until the OS is completely unstable.
Pros: I always like to have a drive on standby and persons my come to me from time to time to fix laptops so I bought this drive. The day came when I needed to use it and it was dead dead dead. Just my luck.
Cons: I will give WD drives a beak. These companies have a time when they produce bad products.
