Summary: Based on 20+ years experience have found this particular hard-drive type the best replacement/upgrade encountered. It has an internal 'shock sensor' which protects the hard-drive when laptop is dropped or 'impacted'.* It also is noticeably faster (7200rpm) than the usual laptop (4800rpm). *Actually salvaged one from a mostly destroyed laptop in 2004 car accident, installed it in another laptop; is still working today without problems.

Summary: This is a cool drive. I bought it to put it in a case and take it with me as an offsite backup. I dropped it on the table once...about 16 inches and I heard it snap lock before it hit the table. Every laptop that doesn't have an SSD should have one of these. If only I could get the US Constitution to snap lock. It might not deteriorate so rapidly.
Summary: Boy this little drive is great. I've been running this one for about a year now, on two different machines. The first thing that got my attention was the freefall sensor. Unfortunately the machine it is currently installed in already has a free fall sensor. I originally purchased it for my inspiron mini10V, for use in the field. With the work it was pressed into, that little netbook saw it's share of bumps, falls and other casual abuse. The drive outlasted the netbook.
