Western Digital Hard drives are the best

SKOOTERBUM, Amazon
14 September 2013
  • Summary: I work on computers as a side job, and in my opinion the Western Digital hard drives are the best. I have replaced many more of the other brands, than I have the Western Digitals. These drives have a three year warranty, compared to the others two year warranties. It's just my opinion, and experience with these drives.

Easy replacement for a crashed laptop!

TLC "TLC from Vegas", Amazon
26 August 2013
  • Summary: Disk supplied as advertised with quick shipping. This was required to replace the failed disk in a non-functional laptop computer. I swapped the failed disk with this one, reloaded the Windows OS from the recovery CDs and the laptop was functional again. Good buy!

Another Great Xbox 360 Option

Lee M., Newegg
15 July 2011
  • Summary: I've wanted a Xbox 360 for a while now and just recently picked up a 4GB Slim. Before buying one, I remember reading an article about a little program call HDDHackr. I looked it up and discovered it allows you to buy your own hard drive and use it instead. There are a few caveats, the largest IMO being you can only use Western Digital hard drives as of now, but they aren't ball busters. Just do a quick search on Google and even Youtube to get you going.
  • Pros: A 320GB 2.5" hard drive for just under $50 and shipped for free from Newegg. How much is the official 250GB Xbox 360 Slim hard drive; $120. That's $70 saved(I'm buying the 4GB Slim) so far for a hard drive that has both higher capacity and costs much less even though it's the same thing. You save $50 if you were to buy the 250B model, but then you probably wouldn't be buying another hard drive either if you got that one.
  • Cons: Not really cons in my opinion, but it only has a 8MB cache and spins at just 5400rpm. Still, I can't find anything that says the official Xbox 360 hard drives are any better. You can buy the more expensive 2.5" laptop hard drives if you want that have those features, but I'm cheap as is the reason I purchased this hard drive from Newegg and not the official one from Microsoft. I should also mention that as of right now (July 15), you cant use the full 320GB. It will o...

I LOVE Western Digital

Mal, Amazon
19 February 2011
  • Summary: I actually just left a review for an external hard drive I bought in January '11 from Western Digital noting the good experience I've had with the brand. I had forgotten that this hard drive was also a Western Digital. I purchased this in September 2009 after the original hard drive in my Mac unexpectedly died and as of today, it's still going strong.
