Pros: A 320GB 2.5" hard drive for just under $50 and shipped for free from Newegg. How much is the official 250GB Xbox 360 Slim hard drive; $120. That's $70 saved(I'm buying the 4GB Slim) so far for a hard drive that has both higher capacity and costs much less even though it's the same thing. You save $50 if you were to buy the 250B model, but then you probably wouldn't be buying another hard drive either if you got that one.
Cons: Not really cons in my opinion, but it only has a 8MB cache and spins at just 5400rpm. Still, I can't find anything that says the official Xbox 360 hard drives are any better. You can buy the more expensive 2.5" laptop hard drives if you want that have those features, but I'm cheap as is the reason I purchased this hard drive from Newegg and not the official one from Microsoft. Summary: I used this to replace a working but full hdd in ps3. It was as easy exact physical replacement. It seems to operated more quietly than the original hdd. If you follow the directions from Sony PS3 site you may get an corrupt data error. It is not the new hard drive. Before pulling out old hdd. Download 3.56 update on a thumbdrive. It is on their home page. Before pulling out old drive update from the thumbdrive that you have downloaded 3.56 update on not automatic update.
Summary: For less than $50 320GB is a lot space and made my purchase a real bargain. I considered a 5400 RPM HDD keeping in mind heat and consumption. So far so good. It's a very silent HDD and it seems pretty fast. Western Digital is a brand with reputation. Nonetheless, I couldn't find any information about product registration and warranty.
