Used Not NEW

Summary: This drive was not sold directly by Newegg but by one of their 3rd party vendors. A friend needed a new drive to replace the failing one a Toshiba laptop. I had them order this drive (WD Scorpio Black 320GB) and send it directly to me since I was doing the work.
Summary: I have filed an RMA with WD. The 2 eggs reflect the good warranty policy (5 years), otherwise it would have been the minimum 1 egg.
Pros: Nice price point. Good warranty.
Cons: I used it in an external enclosure as backup. I make monthly backups. That is, I used this drive 20+ times. I do not think that this drive has been up more than 100 hours. Yesterday it died on me.
Summary: This is the only Western Digital product I have EVER had an issue with. Luckily I had just acquired a MacBook Pro for school, so it wasn't the end of the world. Sadly, my Seagate 3TB external became corrupted(and has since done it again) about 2 weeks later.
Summary: I bought this hard drive 2 months ago. At first it was great, though the 7200RPM didn't seem to make a lot of difference from the 5400 RPM drive I had earlier. Recently, (after 2 months) the hard drive started freezing up, at which point a forced restart is required.
Summary: I was unable to get this to work. Better instructions would be helpful for less computer literate people such as myself. Physical fitting is easy, but I was unable to get my computer to set it up.
