Summary: Love this drive. Did exactly what I wanted it to. Did not make any checks to see precise speed values etc. I can say however that it seems to be on point as it relates to boot time, program installation and opening programs. I don't think you can lose when you go with a Western Digital drive. They are yet to let me down. Seller is also worthy of the 5 stars. Courteous and prompt. Always appreciate that.
Summary: I purchased this hdd to add OSX to my current build which was only running windows 7. I have always had WD hard drives and I have yet to have a problem with any OEM models i have purchased. This drive is no exception. I have been using this drive for a couple months now and i am able to switch back and forth between this drive and my other WD drive with no issues.
Summary: I purchased this hard drive as a replacement for the one that Dell installed in my XPS CPU years ago. As with most computer components this unit did not have any interfacing problems into the rack. There was no problems with installing Windows 7 and data processing and retrieval seem to work great. I've been running the hard drive for about three week now and I'm happy with it.
Summary: I have a in home recording studio, I needed a reliable hard drive that kept up with my system, after installing this drive into the PC, it was a breeze to setup, Vista recognized it immeadiatly. Setup a breeze. When I ran the pc and accesed the hard drive, i could not hear it at all, I had to put my ear up to it to hear anything. "Whisper Quiet" as WD calls it is right on. smooth running drive, and at a great price.. accesses everything i need quickly.
Summary: This is an OEM drive so expect that it does not come with a data cable, power cable or screws. Most of these items usually come with other parts anyway, like data cables with a motherboard, power cables as part of a power supply and screws as part of a computer case. If not, they are very cheap to purchase. Software isn't necessary because all the necessary drivers came with the motherboard for the onboard SATA chipset or with the controller card.
Summary: This hard disk offers exceptional performance. I had a 500GB disk come standard with my desktop but after I had to reset it to factory settings like 3 times, I just resorted to buying a new hard drive. I knew the hard disk was the problem because I'd had to have a replacement sent to me by HP just a few months after I got the desktop. I kind of blame vista home premium for screwing up my hard disk but wutever. I am now running vista ultimate on this WD hard disk.
Summary: This is a reasonably fast drive, has been reliable, and just works. It seems to me that a middle-of-the-road hard drive is at its best when does what it's supposed to. This drive seems to do just that.
