Summary: I was sent a drive that had scratch marks on the side, like it had been scuffed up being pulled out of another system. So I'm pretty sure it was a used drive. It's manufacture date was 2009. The drive works, but it seems that these drives should be labeled as used or refurbished.
Summary: The drives I received were packaged as new; however, the manufacture date on them is more than 5 years ago. Do I trust something with maybe a 5 year lifespan that has been sitting on a shelf somewhere for at least that long?
Summary: We tried these drives in our computers - some of them worked fine in any computer, and some were not recognized by the BIOS in others PCs. After troubleshooting, we discovered that a drive that doesn't work in one computer could work fine in a different computer.
Summary: Item was advertised as new, but the drive itself was manufactured in May 2009....4 years ago. Not sure if these drives are new-old stock, but I wouldn't risk putting a 4 year old hard drive in my PC. Who knows what it's been through, where it was stored, handled, etc....
Summary: First, I was a computer tech for almost 15 years and worked with a lot of hard drives. Bought this on 9/9/2015. It was still in the factory wrapper. Setup went fine, Windows XP on an Acer V6800. (I needed it to play some old games on a slower system!). It is now 12/16/2015 and it has failed twice.
