Great Dives

Ryan S., Newegg
25 June 2015
  • Pros: These drives have worked flawlessly with a lsi 9260-4i and an intel sas expander. The drives in RAID 6 run at about 200 MegaBytes per second (probably would be faster if there wasn't a bottleneck in the sas expander from it running 16 other drives).
  • Cons: None so far!

stephen d., Newegg
23 June 2015
  • Summary: When I returned the vibrating drive, it was damaged in return shipping which led to a big headache and delay! NewEgg eventually took care of the issue with their excellent customer service. When returning a drive(s), double-box them, even if NewEgg sent them single-boxed!

What's up with these

Richard R., Newegg
2 June 2015
  • Summary: I have a QNAP TS-451 4 drive NAS. filled with 4 WD Red 3T drives. My NAS can't seem to stay up more then a couple of months with out a drive getting a read error and being taken off line.
  • Pros: All drives pass "complete smart test" and test out on WD's Lifeguard Diagnostics. But ... Drives do not stay on line ... is it the drives or NAS
  • Cons: Ordered 4 drives. One failed smart test at get go. Replaced by Newegg. Now I'm in nowhere's land and starting to suspect the drives .... see other thoughts below
