Samsung spin point and seagate make better 2TB drives in the 2

Nicholas farmer, Amazon
13 January 2015
  • Summary: Too thick to use in anything. Samsung spin point and seagate make better 2TB drives in the 2.5 form factor. Would buy WD instantly if this was a 2.5" WD Red drive in 2TB size.

  • Summary: Lots of space, great speeds, but do not buy if you want it to fit in your ps4! It does not directly mention this in the description, however, it will not fit. Returning was a long a tedious process.....

Rocking hard drive for PS4

Xylems, Amazon
8 September 2014
  • Summary: This is a great product. It is listed as not being able to be used in laptops due to its thickness. Regular laptop drives are at most 9.4mm thick where as this one is about 15mm thick. SImple size calculations will tell you it will not fit. I purchased this drive for my playstation 4 for additional space. I noticed the 500GB hard drive of the PS4 ran out too quickly when you are forced to install every game, so i wanted the largest drive possible.

Compact 2.5" drive.

O.E. Frik, Amazon
11 December 2013
  • Summary: This drive makes unusual clicking head noises. While this odd noise somewhat makes me uneasy, the drive functions perfectly normal otherwise. I don't know if this is normal or common for these drives. The drive does not heat any more than a 9mm notebook drive and does not draw significantly more current. Due to its height however, (15mm) it won't fit in a notebook or a Mac Mini for that matter. I use it as an external drive to carry most of my media files when I travel.

Thicker than your standard 2.5" drives

Dung Nguyen, Amazon
31 August 2013
  • Summary: This is a sizable drive for the 2.5" format. It is fast enough for USB 3.0 transfer. The downsize is that it is thicker than your average 2.5" drives, so it'll need a special enclosure. Also there's a kind of clicking sound (like fingernails over keyboard) when the drive is being accessed.

Doesn't fit on PS3

Carlos Barros, Amazon
28 August 2013
  • Summary: Well...it was my mistake. Great product, but I bought to use in my PS3. I didn't notice the hard drive has 15 mm instead of 9 mm. Doesn't fit on PS3.
