WD Quality Assurance is going down

Summary: Been a WD customer for several years and so far any drive replacements have been smooth and have gone without a hitch, I purchased this particular model for a My Book Live DUO to replace 1 of the drives that went bad. It worked for a while but then problems arose and went to RMA the drive.
Pros: After all the drama of the past 2 months I see no pros.
Cons: * Drive failed after 3 months. * WD support tried to cheat on warranty. * Replacement drive was wrong model and DoA too. * WD support now trying to blame user.
Pros: At the time of purchase it was a good price/gb and had good reviews.
Cons: Dead on arrival! Unfortunately for me I bought 2 of these drives and only used one. I just got around to using the 2nd drive only to find out that it was dead on arrival. I missed the 2yr limited warranty by my a couple of months according to Western Digital. Be sure to run Data LifeGuard Diagnos...
Summary: Alright if you don't put anything on it of value whatsoever, of if you buy two and use one to back up the other. Otherwise avoid. 2 years is a terrible life span for a desktop pc hard drive.
Pros: Inexpensive Quiet Cool (ish)
Cons: Today marks 1 day after the 2 year warranty expires and it's just about ready to die. This is my first hard drive to not make it past 5 years of home use. I even have some decade old hard drives. Disappointing.
Summary: I purchased this drive to use as an off-line backup. I stored my data on it, then stored it in an ESD bag, in a fire safe. I would remove it about every 3 months, and update the data stored on it.
Pros: price point
Cons: It doesn't actually keep your data. It pretendends to hold it for a short, random period of time, and then throws it all away. Horrible quality.
Summary: I bought this unit and didn't get around to installing it for a couple of weeks. About 3 weeks after installing, the drive started clicking. I ran the WD diagnostic tools and they determined the drive had indeed failed.
Summary: Total garbage. Probably the worst I've ever owned in my 35 years of glorious life. Purchased 3, didn't get around to installing them for a couple of months only to find that 2 were DOA. Since it was past my 30 day window, I just threw $200 out the window.
