Summary: Great hard drive for an EXTREMELY great price! The purchase arrived WAY before the scheduled date, shipped on the same of purchase even! Kudos to the seller! The drive arrived well packaged and in an ES bag for protection: again kudos to the seller. I checked the SMART status of the drive and wiped (DBAN) the drive, just in case. No reported errors or bad sectors found! My only negatives (not really) was the drive was only SATAII, but I knew that going into it.

Summary: Product is exactly as described but it is important to note that these drives are discontinued. While still under warranty, the warranty starts at manufacture date not sale date, so they only have a couple years left on them off the original 5 year warranty
Summary: So far this hard drive has run great and even survived a short in my server. The customer service from this company was great when I ordered the hard drive. This is a really solid hard drive for your server needs.
Summary: We use the "Black" drives throughout our systems including inside our Thecus servers and as second drives on our desktop PCs with no serious problems. In five years, they just keep going. We still always don't trust any hard drive.... always keep backups.
Summary: This drive is fast, and performance-wise has everything you’re likely to want. But the really impressive part is the amount of work WD has done to ensure reliability both in standalone operation and also in RAID. These are now tried and tested drives in the market, and the results of WD’s work are clear to see, so you know you can depend on them with your data.
Extremely reliable and great price/reliability ratio. The only 7200RPM class drives I purchase, period.

Summary: The reliability of these drives are second to none. I have over 20 of these installed in my servers in a datacenter cabinet and they all run great on my Dell PERC6/i. I move lots of data all day long serving up webpages to clients, and cloud hosting applications. So for the price/reliability ratio you're getting with these drives, I can't find a better product.
Summary: awesome, if you do a lot of data writing and reading get it. (own 8 of them) don't get the home user counter part. you'll only regret it and lose your data. and then end up buying this 5yr warranty priced fair. *slight noise but it's a solid performing product.
