Product is exactly as described but it is important to ...

Douglas Baker, Amazon
  • Summary: Product is exactly as described but it is important to note that these drives are discontinued. While still under warranty, the warranty starts at manufacture date not sale date, so they only have a couple years left on them off the original 5 year warranty

Great HD

S. Ward "MacXpert", Amazon
20 June 2014
  • Summary: While the true test of an HD is how I feel about it 5 years from now, in the mean time all I can say is: I wish I had bought more at this price.

Great Hard Drive

Steve Hartman, Amazon
3 June 2014
  • Summary: So far this hard drive has run great and even survived a short in my server. The customer service from this company was great when I ordered the hard drive. This is a really solid hard drive for your server needs.

We have had no problems...

Terrel Pochert, Amazon
29 May 2014
  • Summary: We use the "Black" drives throughout our systems including inside our Thecus servers and as second drives on our desktop PCs with no serious problems. In five years, they just keep going. We still always don't trust any hard drive.... always keep backups.

RE4 are about the best platter drives available

Tech Taster "tt", Amazon
20 December 2013
  • Summary: This drive is fast, and performance-wise has everything you’re likely to want. But the really impressive part is the amount of work WD has done to ensure reliability both in standalone operation and also in RAID. These are now tried and tested drives in the market, and the results of WD’s work are clear to see, so you know you can depend on them with your data.

Extremely reliable and great price/reliability ratio. The only 7200RPM class drives I purchase, period.

Kevin Sipma, Amazon
3 December 2013
  • Summary: The reliability of these drives are second to none. I have over 20 of these installed in my servers in a datacenter cabinet and they all run great on my Dell PERC6/i. I move lots of data all day long serving up webpages to clients, and cloud hosting applications. So for the price/reliability ratio you're getting with these drives, I can't find a better product.

solid quality drive

Bradley J. Thomas "CHEMLIGHT", Amazon
15 November 2013
  • Summary: awesome, if you do a lot of data writing and reading get it. (own 8 of them) don't get the home user counter part. you'll only regret it and lose your data. and then end up buying this 5yr warranty priced fair. *slight noise but it's a solid performing product.

I found it on AMAZON quickly, the price: REASONABLE, the shipping: FAST, condition: PERFECT, and it arrived when EXPECTED!

Ed O'Neil, Amazon
12 November 2013
  • Summary: I am an OPO (One Person Operation) IT person and relativly new here at work. I am responsable for ALL things IT and am really needing things to go well and right. Last week, I noticed an amber warning light on one of my Dell PowerEdge 2950's. I checked the logs and diagnostics and found one of the 4 drives had failed. Then immediatley I cracked open Amazon.com and began searching for a fast replacement drive. The best price was by a company clear across the USA from me.

Love these drives

baha, Amazon
28 October 2013
  • Summary: I almost bought the consumer rated RED drives but having RE3 drives before I decided to pay more for less capacity than the RED. These are of commercial construction and are meant to operate 24/7. I replaced my two RE3 1TB drives with 2 RE4 2TB drives and have not had a single problem with either model. RE4's I think only come with 3 year warranty whereas the RE3's were 5 year I believe. The bubblewrapping in shipping was very professional.
