Summary: I purchased a new Dell laptop in March of 2011 that came with this HD installed. Within 6 months it failed and had to be replaced. It was replaced with another Blue Scorpio HD and failed yet again less than a year after replacement.
Summary: A relative bought a new Dell laptop Christmas of 2010. This drive came in that laptop. The drive became non-functional a little more than six months after the laptop was purchased. I bought the exact same drive from Newegg, and the new drive was defective on arrival.
Summary: I was scared to buy this refurb but after opening the box and seeing it sealed in plastic I knew it was at least a good start. The install of the drive and os went perfect and is still running like a champ.
Cons: This drive came with my Gateway netbook. It's worked great for the past 2 years but now it's starting to make a clicking noise and I'm afraid it's about to die. Looking for a replacement drive now.
Summary: Used this to replace an 80 GB hdd in a friends' Gateway Laptop. The Hitachi hdd that came with it had a lot of bad sectors & failed the Hitachi disc check utility. Reloaded Windows Vista and all is well.
Summary: I had to replace the hard drive in my black, first-generation Macbook this summer that I've had for three or four years. I'd never gotten a non-Apple replacement part, but things are working just fine so far and I've had it in for 5 months. :)
