Summary: I am by no means a computer expert so on receiving the Amazon email inviting me to 'review my recent purchase' I couldn't really imagine what I was going to say. Surely a hard drive either works or it doesn't, and my new hard drive works. So why only 1 star? Well I bought it due to the exact same model (fitted as standard in my HP laptop) failing after less than two years of very limited use.
Summary: I bought this drive to do a clean install of Windows 7 on my aging Acer Aspire 9300. Very simple to exchange hard drives. Just a case of removing the hard drive cover plate on my laptop, remove the hard drive and then fit in the Western Digital drive. Works quickly and silently and without any heat issues during heavy file transfers.
Summary: Having a basic knowledge of computers and then faced with the task of replacing a laptop's hard drive I didn't really know what to look for so began by searching for the size/type using the old drive's label as a guide. I found Amazon's website was easy to use and narrowed the search down to this one. Compared to other sites it was the cheapest, I ordered it on Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday.
Summary: I think it may be a good product, but after the Partitioning and Formatting, I found it's 150G only, not claimed 160G. I don't know if it is the product's problem or mine. If it's the product's problem, I would not be happy.
