Never buy refurbished

Mr. B., Newegg
25 November 2013
  • Summary: A very fast drive until it died 3 days outside warranty period (warranty expired on Nov 18th, drive died on Nov 21st). Can't even access the drive now. Thought that a refurbished drive from western digital was a safe bet. Learned my lesson here; do not buy refurbished drives, even from a company that is usually very reliable.
  • Pros: Very fast when it worked.
  • Cons: Died right after warranty expired.

Quick and clean

Logan H., Newegg
29 June 2013
  • Summary: Wife dropped her laptop and the drive started clunking. Unsure of if that was the only damage done we selected the most inexpensive drive to fit in. Happened to be this one.
  • Pros: Worked perfectly.
  • Cons: None so far.

OK Drive

Bruce C., Newegg
7 May 2013
  • Summary: I bought this drive to clone my 750 gig (but not near full) WD Scorpio Black drive to so should the larger drive fail, I would have a plug-and-play backup clone while ordering a new (larger) drive.
  • Pros: Brand Name
  • Cons: Significantly slower than I expected for a WD Scorpio Black 7200 RPM drive.
