no errors, but has run-time hours.

Summary: Amazon listing states "new OEM". Drive has 4500 hrs on it, so about 6 months prior use. SMART status reports no errors or issues of any kind. It's been alive here about a week. NOTE: even though this WD part # comes up as a single item, it looks like a kind of round-robin in terms of which seller...
BUYER BEWARE... INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE DESCRIPTION AND NO FACTORY WARRANTY WHATSOEVER!!!

Summary: This is a rating for the Seller and the WD Hard Drive they sold. This Seller is one of many who uses deceptive practices in their descriptions of Hard Drives they sell. The problem is that these drives are "NEW" according to their description, but they do not come with the consumer protections one...
Summary: Not much else to say, WD makes good drives and treats their customer base well, in my opinion. I will buy more, as I already have since this died. Feces happens sometimes. The problem lies with how much stink you can handle.
Pros: Drive is quiet. Lightweight. Clean looking nice design. Purchased 8/18/2010 (allow shipping and install time) and died on 10/18/2010. To be fair, WD shipped me a replacement drive in less that 6 hours of submitting my advanced RMA request. It is not here yet so I can not tell you what they sent m...
Cons: Smaller drive, smaller cache but I knew this when I ordered t, so not sure if this counts as a con. The quick death of this drive, however, I do have to say that this is the first new WD drive I have had to ship in in 3 years. I deal with 10-20 new WD drives a week. I have had a few other drives ...
Summary: Should have searched the WeaKnees TiVo Upgrade Forum for issues with these drives first. Search there for info on which drives will still work in your S1 TiVo -- and you can purchase them from Newegg, too!
Pros: Probably would work very well in most applications. On my old computer they seemed quite speedy compared to the drives I took out of the TiVo, and ran cooler, too. Newegg shipped quickly and the drives were well-packed.
Cons: Apparently WD now uses the same electronics as their SATA drives in these but adds a converter for PATA. This prevents them from booting Series 1 TiVos. I bought two to refurb my aging SAT-T60 DirecTiVo and wound up with two drives that now must remain in an old computer I rarely use. Note that t...
Summary: I might RMA this. It's running warm and the S.M.A.R.T results are worrying me. "The overall fitness for this drive is 89%. The overall performance for this drive is 90%."
Pros: Somewhat faster than the failing drive it replaced.
Cons: Price. It's expensive for a 160 GB drive. Oh, and it's not Newegg's prices...most likely because it is old technology. Runs at 37 C in a Dell with poor air circulation, whereas the Sea**** it replaced ran at about 30 C.
