Summary: I used it for my old laptop to replace a broken harddrive and it is still working perfectly fine. It arrived new as described and earlier than expected. It fitted by DELL Inspiron 6000 without any trouble.
Summary: I bought this drive as an upgrade to an old (2006-vintage) Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop. The main difficulty was that the laptop's original hard drive was an EIDE model, so I couldn't fit a SATA drive. There are very few EIDE drives available now that SATA has become the standard interface, and those that do exist are subject to the suspicion that they are merely survivors from the pre-2007 era.

Summary: Oh my god! I cannot believe how fast my laptop is running now with this new hard drive (with a little help from the new RAM I sourced elsewhere!) I'm no longer trying to run this thing at a snails pace, and it's just perfect!
Summary: Bought for our dell inspiron 6000, which had been showing the blue screen of death increasingly frequently, this hard drive sorted it out and is now running beautifully!!! only criticism was the shipping, paid 1st class and it still took a week to come.
Summary: I have a 5 year old Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 60Gb hard drive. The problems with "blue screen of death" and constant crashing meant that a new HDD was necessary. I purchased the WD Scorpio 120Gb IDE to replace it and to make the job easier, Acronis True Image software. The removal of the old (Samsung) HDD and installation of the new one was simple enough (remembering to swap the blade connector from the old drive!).
Summary: I have had my inspiron 6000 for 5 years now and decided it was time to upgrade/replace my 60gb hard drive. I ran a direct one for one copy using terabyteinc disk copy software (on a dos bootable cd) and then used the computer management in windows xp to create an extra partition. By october I plan to move critical data to the new partition and then install windows 2007 on the main partition. Anyway the new disc drive is certainly quieter than the old one.
Summary: This is a great little drive that I purchased to upgrade the existing smaller drive in my laptop. Data access is fast. It works well and I am perfectly happy with it. I can't think of any other specifics but, can certainly recommend it.
