Summary: I ordered this a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 1 TB 2.5" 5400rpm Internal Notebook Hard Drive But i received this instead a defective Western Digital Blue 1 TB WD Blue SATA II 5200 RPM 8 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Notebook Hard Drive And because i opened the packaging i can't return it so i'm out a $115.00...
Summary: Bought this OEM for my MacBook unibody in September 2011. Last week I noticed I could only boot Windows but not OSX. Reinstalled OSX and thought it was fixed. Now it won't boot anything but the installation disk.
Summary: It was great to have enough space for both MacOS and bootcamped Ubuntu on my Macbook pro, but the drive died after a year. Who knows, maybe this was the 1/1000 that died early, but I will be buying a Seagate or something else next time.
Cons: Bought first one in June, it died less than a month later. Got RMA and second one. It just died, after only a few weeks. Got RMA for third one, hope it actually works more than a few weeks, when I get it. Hard to like it when it when it does not work very long. Save your money and get another bra...
Summary: will order a different drive from same company but with different height. Dell didn't make the specs easier to find and i couldn't find them. Ordered with windows 7 disk, hope i can return just the hard drive. will call new egg in the morning.
Pros: From a reputable company that stands behind their product.
Cons: Way to big to fit in a dell inspiron 1525. about 1/8'th of an inch to tall
Summary: This drive is 12mm tall and cannot fit into my laptop. My drive bay max hight is 9.5mm and currently fits a samsung drive.I tried putting the WD drive into an external enclosure but again the enclosure is 9.5mm in height and the WD could not fit. A waste of money.
Summary: This is a Dell Studio 1555, a pretty common laptop.
Pros: Im sure it would work great if I could fit it in the laptop.
Cons: Newegg sent the wrong drive the first time, we rush and 2nd day aired the correct drive and upon arrival we discovered it was too thick to fit into the laptop. (after 7 hours of cloning) You would think they would mention this in the details.
Cons: Its massive physically as well, the drive was supposed to go into my ps3 but even though it is 2.5 (supposedly), it is WAY TOOO TALL - WAAYYYYY TOOO TALL. So dumb... Now I will have to wait another week to do something so simple..
