Summary: Bought this for a CCTV DVR unit and have had it running constantly. I only use Western Digital drives because of warranty and R.M.A. through WD, and they have been for the most part very reliable.
****WD RD3 1 TB Hds are USED! The ARE NOT NEW! *****
20 May 2014
Summary: ***** UPDATE 5/29/2014 **** BOTTOM LINE IS WESTERN DIGITAL RE3 HARD DRIVES FROM 2 DIFFERENT VENDORS ARE BOTH USED SOLD AS NEW! I ordered another of these from a different supplier this time SD Peripherals. This hard drive is ALSO USED! OVER 19,900 HOURS, 830 DAYS!!!! Everyone is saying the hds do not have manufacture warranties. The Reason the hds do not have a warranty is because the manufacturs know the hds are USED so any warranty has to come from the seller.
Summary: I was recently building a computer and was looking for a 1TB HD to use as a secondary hard drive to store my games. I had gotten a SSD for my operating system. I am very glad I had it set up that way. I recieved this hard drive very quickly and set it up. 2 days later it croaked. WHY?!?!? WHY??!?! I contacted the seller and it was shipped back and quickly replaced. The new one rocks. It has a ton of games on it and still a lot of free room left.
Western Digital Enterprise hard drives in server applications

Summary: Western Digital Enterprise drives work in my servers. I replaced the original Seag**** drives at the times they failed, (which was an all to common occurrence), with WD drives and have never regretted the move. All the servers with Seag*** drives suffered from early failure and ultimately required replacement. (with WD drives). I have only had 2 WD failures in over 15 years experience on several systems.
