Summary: I moved Steam, Steam games, Origin, and Origin games to this drive from my 1TB WD 7200 RPM Blue and haven't noticed a difference in load times. Don't even try "cloning" your old drive to this one.
Pros: - Looks Cool - Seems to run cool (I've seen reviews that say this drive runs hot, not true if you have a well ventilated case.) - 5 Year Warranty - WD reliability
Cons: - I haven't noticed it being faster than my 7200 RPM WD Blue - A little noisy when loading (think HDDs from 10 years ago)
Summary: I'm glad Item #: 0VN-0003-00035 was on sale and I bought that also. I just pulled my hard drive out of my PC, inserted it and the VelociRaptor WD1000DHTZ, pressed clone, watched a movie on TV, installed the VelociRaptor WD1000DHTZ in my PC and SUCCESS.
Pros: This thing is fast. Really fast!
Cons: No cons except I wished the first one would have worked.
Summary: Very fast :) Pray it stands that test of time and keeps on performing. Replaced an aging, yet still reliable 650 Black WD :) I wanted the higher RPM's for video rendering.
Pros: Seems zippy! Fast for the most part and a nice compliment to my SSD boot drive :) And gotta great deal with the 'Shell Shocker' deal.
Cons: various reviews here regarding it being noisy and not noisy. Assortment of programs say it's status as 'Good'. I'm hearing it 'chatter' when accessing the platters. But I have a very well vented Antec case with lots of fannage ;) Time will tell if it's a good/reliable drive. Ahhh, the test of TIM...
Solid Drives. FAST. But WATCH The SATA Connections

Summary: I don't know what kind of plastic WD used, but I've never seen a SATA connect as brittle as these. USE CAUTION.! Docked a star for cheap plastics
Pros: FAST. Dependable drives. Prices have come down.
Cons: Use kit gloves when plugging in your SATA cables. The first day my VRaptors arrived I spun them up with no issue. Got everything loaded and installed. Had to move one drive to another bay, and the SATA connection on the ICE housing snapped off in the cable (with the lightest touch).Had to glue it...
Summary: It seems to do what it's supposed to. My only issue that I have with it is that on a system where it is a secondary drive, it stay off until it is requested and then it spins up and spins down when finishing.
Summary: If your looking for lots of storage, Enterprise Quality(5 year warranty), solid performance -all at a much better cost than expensive SSD's, I would go with this drive. Cost per G/B the 1TB velociraptor wins hands down over SSD.
Pros: Solid Preformance, reliable. Low cost per G/B
Summary: This is my second one that arrived DoA . I always buy WD and have never had problems with them until now . Could not format and install windows at all. Drive was making a lot of rattling noise.
