All Good

  • Excerpt: I've been using this HD for about 1 week so far. It is quiet, quick, it is 7200rpm with 64mb cache and 6gb sata connection. I scanned the complete HD before the full install and all sectors reported good. The best part of this HD is that it is NON AF (advanced format)! On some older computers if you attempt to install a AF HD you can run into the OS system not loading properly with no indication that the AF is the problem - this still happens even if using interface mfg...
  • Pros: Quiet

  • Excerpt: Needed a 1 TB drive for a mirrored backup of my Mac Mini. I have had good luck with WD drives in the past, and the price was right, so I bought this and popped it in my 4 drive enclosure, and voula!

  • Summary: Maybe I'm just unlucky, but this drive is probably the loudest I have ever owned. If I'm not playing music, or watching TV I can literally hear the drive doing it's thing from the other room.
  • Pros: Inexpensive
  • Cons: Noisy

  • Summary: 60$ for 1TB of storage is ok. This is the Blue line up of WD so you get decent performance out of it for a decent price. Quiet enough so that you don't know it is there. If you want pure storage, look elsewhere since even WD will have better offerings (Red or Green). But for games or applications that you use a little more often yet not often enough to deserve a place on your SSD(s), this is perfect.
  • Pros: Cheap, Good quality, Decent size and performance
  • Cons: It's not an SSD?
