Summary: Bought this thinking I could take off the huge heat shield/carrier and it would fit inside my laptop (nope, too tall). So, since I had already used a hex bit (and voided my warranty) getting it apart, I put it back together and tossed it into an aging Dell XPS400 I had lying around. Man, it's like a new machine. It is now our development Minecraft server (and LAN game server). Great value for an impressive drive.
Summary: This drive is much faster than the one that came with my desktop pc, so I use it as my primary. Several years later, still going strong, no issues at all, I wonder about some of the negative reviews, but I guess there are always a few bad units here and there. One more thing, my desktop is raid capable, but I refuse to try raid on my computer, too many risky issues, and with a 6 core pc with fast drive and plenty of memory, I don't need any more speed, my pc rarely slows...
FAST! and so far over a relatively long period, reliable in daily to multiple times a day on-off powerd situation

Summary: This drive is the "Hot Setup" for a boot up drive for an ageing desktop computer. We have an older ACER desktop which came with a "wear dated" 5200 RPM drive that started to flake out after a couple of yeas. I began to fear it would crash and refuse to start again so I replaced it with this one and moved all the operating software to it. It was like putting a new motor in a funky old oil burning clunker!
