Summary: just got the wrong HD a few minutes ago.tried to crrect situation whith rep fromAmazon, but the jerk hangup on me,returning produt to the store immediately.will stop @Sams Club to get external HD.
Summary: It quit working 3 days after getting the drive and installing it in a laptop, it would not even recognize as a drive. I used WD utilities (in an external encasement) and it got to recognize the drive 1 time and gave a bad checksum on the boot sector and I was never able to get back to the drive...
Summary: Newegg's service was flawless, as usual. Shipping time was quick and RMA process was smooth.
Cons: Arrived DOA. Tried in 2 different computers, neither would recognize. Had to RMA. 1st WD drive I've ever rec'd that was dead. I wish Newegg would have had more in stock because I really wanted this drive, but since this was the only one I was able to get and it was dead, gotta give it 1 egg.
Cons: I purchase this HD around a year ago... it crashed after 3 months. I sent it in to WD they sent back a refurbished one and it recently crashed after around 8 months. May just be the DELL that the HD was in that caused it but it was the HD that crashed. I paid $80 back when I bought mine.
Summary: Please be advised to stay away from this drive. I have lost very important work as it crashed, replaced with another and it crashed again. Please be aware Fudjitsu Pc's use these drives so if you have one please change it before you start developing problems. Very poor.
Summary: Lack of Support for Failed Drives Western Digital will not support your hard drive WHEN it fails. On November 16, 2004, I bought a 250GB hard drive. Three months later in February, 2005, I had to return it for a replacement due to a hard failure.
Summary: After all the bad reports from these reviews and the many customer reviews on the circuit city website [...] Many of which involve quotations like "The drive started to spark" or "It simply caught on fire" I think I'll just stay away from this drive.
