Summary: It's a hard drive. I received exactly what I was expecting, when I was expecting it. Packaging was good (rather unusual when ordering from Amazon), and it works perfectly. For a love score, I would have needed to be able to afford an even better drive.
Summary: Purchased this to replace factory hard drive in PS3. Took a few minutes to install, and I had a huge amount of space for game downloads, etc. Since PS4 is around the corner, and I don't know how long the PS3 will be supported, it's nice to know that I can always keep my purchases on the hard drive and never worry about running out of space.
Summary: Bought this HDD to upgrade my 120GB slim PS3. Very easy to do if you follow any online instructions or youtube videos. Here's what I did: 1. Backed up my 120GB content through PS3 backup utility to a external drive (I was able to use an SD card w USB adaptor) 2. Formatted this 1TB drive to FAT32 (not NTFS) through my PC 3. swap out the 120GB and plug in this drive 4. downloaded the latest PS3 slim system update in an USB drive 5.
Summary: I bought this after a few weeks of searching around to upgrade my PS3 slim, the drive is perfect. It offers a ton of space and as everyone knows by now could not be easier to swap out with the exisiting HDD in the console. I have had the drive installed since FEB but waited a few months to come in and give anytype of review or rating because I wanted to make sure the system would function fine with it in.
Summary: I bought this HD to replace my PS3's original 60gb HD. So far so good a HUGE leap in memory and at a GREAT price!! I would totally recommend this HD for anybody wanting to transfer their existing PS3 systems existing HD. Dont go for anything less then a Terrabyte either. The PS3 for the last few years has been having gaming companies force you to download most of the games memory onto the PS3's memory therefore you can burn through your PS3's memory now in just a few...
Excellent 1-TB drive: compact 9.5mm height for laptop use, very quiet, low power consumption, fairly fast, at a great price!

Summary: இ Fuzzy Wuzzy's Summary: ѾѾѾѾѾ Highly recommended with warm fuzzies! I have two of these 1-TB drives installed in a laptop that is often used for the editing of photos, images, and very large video files. I had originally considered getting two of the faster 7200-RPM "Scorpio Black" series drives.
Summary: Many users will rate this review not helpful because they installed this drive as a primary drive or have an application running that reads regularly from the drive so it never spins down. In this situation, you will never notice the cons that I and many other users experience during gaming. But the problem is very real in our setups.
Pros: Works fine for storage or as a primary drive. Cons become noticeable when used as a secondary drive
Cons: The previous reviewer "Matos" explained the cons accurately and clearly. This drive causes serious micro stuttering when used as a secondary drive for gaming. The drive spins down and the the read/write head parks too fast during idle periods when the game is not actively reading data from the drive. I verified that this was the issue by running a third party program that reads/write a small file to the drive at 30 second intervals so the drive doesn't spin down. All ...
